Or just massively forgetful and under prepared. Like me every time I take a flight somewhere
Not a proxmox pro by any means, but it can do both VMs and containers. I have a few VMs for various Linux distros to play around with. I also have one dedicated VM for all my security related tools.
Stuff like PI hole, jellyfin, logstash, etc. dont really have any need for a full OS, so a container works perfectly. Plus having a full OS with several things running on it makes it more difficult if you just need to restart one service
I started doing everything in VMs but over time realized some things were better to maintain as containers
Are you actually able to delete your stuff? I've tried a couple days in a row to delete my posts and comments and they kept coming back. I even tried editing my posts but they just revert back to the original.
Haven't tried in a day or so but I assume reddit is restoring from a backup or something
I did play the hell out of this game back in the day, but there was an even older one that only worked in dos mode. I can't remember the name, but I loved that version.
Tried this last night and my posts are back too. Thinking about editing each and replacing with some shit about spez. That will surely get it removed
I thought the server tech/visualization they used in the movie is kinda cheesy, but the rebellious attitude and culture influenced me more than anything back then. And the soundtrack is awesome
It did also get me interested into hacking and computers though, and I ended up getting a networking degree and using none of that knowledge because I ended up becoming a software developer.
And I also gained a huge crush on Angelina Jolie from that movie
Reverse engineering is more about understanding how a piece of software does something so you can better work with it, or make your own version of it. Typically requires a lot of time studying it, and usually goes hand in hand with decompiling. But decompiled source isnt the cleanest and doesn't give you the exact same code the devs have. It only gives you the low level order of operations.
Most of the time, knowing why requires understanding all the code from an architecture perspective, which typically requires being part of the internal decision making. You won't get that unless you have the actual source code with good comments and documentation. All of which would be stripped out during compilation.
Whenever I reverse engineer something at work is because it is usually a super old 3rd party software that's out of support, and I need to see how it's performing some task. I'm never able to get the context of why they do it a certain way but I do get the how of it
I think most people in theory are against big corporations, but when it comes down to it they just go 'it is what it is' and just accept the big corps without any attempts to break off that path.
My wife is like that and I think it has more to do with not being very tech savvy/or willingness to try something different.
I do post comments here more than reddit. Partly to help keep engagement up, but also because I haven't seen many shitheads trying to make me feel bad.
Ive always called it 'ninja bailing' and it's one of the few things I do that I don't regret. Most of the time my friends are drunk enough to not even notice or remember that I left.
