I apologize in advance if posts like this are not welcome here.
I have a friend circle of 6 guys including me. Before some of us got jobs, we used to play games everyday, hang out together if we are in town. Everyone was chill, enjoyed games more and mostly respected each other to some degree.
After getting jobs we still made time to play and hang out, but not as frequently. I only get time to play games with them on the weekends as my job is in a different time zone. But I still call or text them nearly everyday. Some of them play every single day (kind of addicted to GTA online and valorant for some reason).
But in the last couple of months I have noticed a shift in their behavior. Talking behind each others backs and always getting offended for the silliest of things. This is especially true for those who continued to mindlessly play every single day (they work on the same startup company as well).
I always knew that there was one guy among us who would unnecessarily run his mouth. But I always thought of it as his way of having fun. Mybe it was his way of feeling included. Idk. So I never took any of his ramblings to heart. But everything hits differently now, in a bad way. Every conversation feels like I'm walking on eggshells. Now the others are also starting to become like him.
It's not just me who thought this way. Another guy who have been besties for a long time with the blabbermouth guy personally called me and told that the whole group feels like it's infected by something and shared thoughts similar to mine.
I want to call it out, but i'm not sure how to do that in a thoughtful way. I just want them to reflect on themselves, not that I have any right to say that. I'm not afraid of offending them as it's almost impossible to say anything meaningful without doing so.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.
So I got my first ever Swiss Army Knife 2 months ago. It's a Victorinox Huntsman with 14 tools (the one with the saw). I have not used it extensively yet, but I wipe it clean every time I use it.
I'm not aware of when and how often I should oil the moving parts and things like that. I would like to keep this knife in working condition for as long as I can.
I have never 3d printed anything before. These days I'm working on a small home automation project, and I will require some enclosures. So I thought why not buy a 3d printer ? That way I can also learn about 3d printing when I get some time.
Also please suggest an affordable 3d printer.
I just need to preserve some old data that I have on my computers, so I was wondering what would be the best way to archive stuff long term.
Blu-ray disks ? Multiple HDDs ? What do you guys suggest ?
I do training that focuses on strength, endurance and flexibility but I have never measured it so it's difficult to see if I have made progress or not.
When I think of stats, what immediately comes to mind are the souls like games. Personally I have only played Elden Ring and a bit of Sekiro.
We have STRENGTH, DEXTERITY , ENDURANCE, INTELLIGENCE, VIGOR and uhm .. FAITH, how can one measure their abilities and represent in this form ?
For starters -
I consider practicing kicks, punches , writing with my non dominant hand and practicing any form of movement as DEX.
Maintaining optimal levels in Blood work, eating healthier food consistently.. etc can be considered in VIGOR.
Obtaining knowledge that can enhance one's perception of the world , knowledge about chemicals and physics principles that can benefit you in any situation. These can be considered in INT.
I really don't know what to put in FAITH.
STR can be measured by ability to withstand stress over a time period.
I don't even know if this a feasible way to identify progress, but what do you think ? Please don't hesistate to suggest If there is a better alternative to this.
Thanks !
I know a lot of people but I find it really difficult to maintain contact with most of them. I can manage a few in my close circle and some acquaintances but definitely not more than 20 people.
It doesn't take much time for the gap to widen and before you know it they'll start treating you like a stranger.
So I was thinking whether there's something like the for relationships.
Maybe finding out the optimal time interval can help me set reminders to connect with a few people now and then.
Well this was just a though that randomly came to me. I thought I'd ask the wonderful people over here.
Sorry Noob here. This is my second time trying NixOS as a desktop. I just did a new installation of NixOS on my main pc.
In Arch my goto kernel was the Zen kernel. Is something similar available on NixOS ?
What kernels do you use / has got the most out of ?
I have heard that willpower is finite and every person starts their day with a limited capacity.
On the other hand there are people like gym goers or sportspersons saying that they can muster up more will power if they have the right mentality at the right time.
I don't know which one is right, but is it possible to increase one's capacity for will power ? If so what kind of exercises or training methods do they have to use ?

I don't know if this was the right way to phrase my question.
I have this problem where I space out every now and then, I just can't shake it off and start doing the things I should be doing.
For example - If I'm in a room with a bunch of people who I should be talking to, I will most likely speak a few times and then I'd space out and look like Kanye's Blank Stare meme.
