@lemmy.worldThere are high frequency sounds that they emit when they experience certain stimuli, for example when not having enough water or leaves being torn. As far as I know some other plants or insects might be evolutionarily tuned to recognize those sounds and react to them. So yes, in a way plants can talk.
1, just had covid and had to catch up on so much work today since I can't leave a total mess behind when I go on vacation next week.
Then I guess I have been doing it right! Totally forgetting to water them for months and then dump a bucket of water into them.
