What is the weirdest food your cat wants to eat?
By weird I mean outside of regular cat diet, things like cornflakes, ketchup or banana bread (these are real examples from my and my friends' cats).

Not my cat, but a family friend's. The cat would go nuts for olives. One of them liked having olives on their pizza, and the cat would eat their way through unattended pizza boxes to get to the olives on the top of the pizza.
Granpa Rex Allen, a Texas-dwelling Sphynx/Devon-Rex cross, regularly consumed broccoli. He lived to be 34 years and 2 months old.

@mihnt and @landflucht that's so weird, I came in here to talk about a cat I knew that would beg for the cut off stalks from raw broccoli!
I originally saw this on a post awhile back on the other site and there was a whole interview with the guy, but it's not turning up.
I once housesat and the cat would bite any soft fruit as well as through the plastic bags of snacks if left unattended. I'm attaching the photo of what a peach bitten by that cat looked like. I hope the attachment works, first time trying this
I've found stolen tomatoes and eggplant that look just like that peach. It's like they were playing with it.
At least in my case the cat didn't take the fruit elsewhere, it would just bite it on the spot. Cleaning up after a sticky mess of fruit all over the apartment doesn't sound fun...
I had ferrets for a while. they liked to steal and hide things. you learn to check under the couch weekly just so you don't find things by smell. and hope it's not somehow inside the couch.
mostly it was the one guy, who preferred his chips and sweets, but knew his sister liked other things. she didn't eat tomatoes or apples or fruit, but he'd carry that stinky orange down stairs for her, lips peeled back so he didn't have to taste it too much.
I used to have a cat that went nuts for cantaloupe. Like she would eat through cardboard to get to it, then gnaw through the rind and hollow it out.
I let my cats sniff almost everything, and they usually walk away. For example, today I let them sniff some both raw chicken that I was preparing for my own dinner, and both gave it a few good sniffs before walking away. Most recently, I discovered that my youngest enjoys peanut butter! I believe it was the same cat who has also tried to eat my dried mango on multiple occasions. It was either my oldest or a friend's cat who repeatedly took me up on the offer of banana chips.
My cat goes nuts for cheese. It's the only time he lets out his aggressive demanding meow.
Spinach, Broccoli, Green beans and peas
My little idiot is very confused about his role in the food chain
My folks' cats will eat that cardboard box. Seriously, they have to be really careful not to leave any boxes out.
My girl craves bananas and will circle the table when my son and I are having breakfast, demanding her share. She also likes pita chips.
My old boy (RIP) used to love avocado and seaweed snacks.
Onions. She has stolen them from my plate and came for more.
PSA: Onions and garlick are poisonous for cats!
My cat is fine, though. Not letting her have it anymore.
Edit: oh, and chips! Any kind.
If it weren't for humans they'd long be extinct. 😂
"Hey, what's this?" Scratches gorilla playfully and lays down on side 😅
Before my wonderful cat passed away, he was never interested in "people food". But there were 2 exceptions that he went absolutely bonkers for: ranch dressing and Taco Bell.
Made me question the true edibility of both.
Our cat LOVES Taco Bell, too. More specially, he absolutely loves their nacho cheese sauce to the point to where he has a few extra sides of it ordered when we grab it. It seems to be a ubiquitous food that all cats seem to seek when it's nearby.
Mine sits politely at the counter while we cook (no paws on the counter) waiting to taste anything we are cooking.
I don't think she knows she's a cat.
One of my cats loved fruit. She was a 7 toed blue eyed white cat that loved canteloupe as a snack.
Mine does this too, she will tear up pieces of paper on the floor and leave a mess. I've wondered if it's something to be concerned about
Avocados, bread and cheese. Also they will do anything for chicken nuggets.
Unfortunately, I also own a tiny human as well, whose preferred diet also consists of the same things and has a short attention span. The cats adore tiny human as she is a source of unguarded treats.
The struggle is real.
God help me as tiny human just found out about avocado toast with shredded Parmesan..... The cats are thrilled.
One of our cats care's 0% for most foods but will beg for provolone cheese. Only provolone.
And tuna but that's not weird.
I have two cats that are both crazy for their own reasons.
One is just in love with marshmallows. He will not eat them that much, but loves to bite and kick them. I think, he just loves the texture of that. He also love to lick every sweet there is. We have to keep him away from glasses with fountain drinks, because he will lick edges.
Second one just loves plastic. When he is hungry, he will not look for food, but for plastic to chew instead. Any plastic bag, ribbon, anything, he will munch that until he will choke... Twice I had to pull a present ribbon from his throat... It's especially hard on Christmas 😃
I used to have a cat that would go mental for Pringles. She would not leave you alone if she saw a can in the house until you would put it down on the floor for her to see for herself that it was empty.
Omg same. I'd try to be extremely quiet if I was opening a can but this bugger would come sprinting from across the house and try to eat them as I was putting them in my mouth. I do miss that lil shit though.
