Communism brings equality by chopping the exceptional at the knees.
Being anticommunist is the easiest shit in the world. No need to ever investigate anything or do any research or even concoct a plausible lie. Just make up the absolute dumbest shit on the spot.
It's true, under communism everyone who talks like that dweeb will be chopped at the knees
This is a common anti-communist line to be fair. They think under communism "hur dur everyone will be exactly the same" and ironically every lib thinks this about communism without any introspection.
The fact that this absurd lie spread so readily and was believed by so many kind of highlights my point, though. One of the most common anti-communist myths is literally just some dumb bullshit with no evidence or connection to reality.
While at the same time absolutely despising anyone of a different colour, religion, sexual orientation or gender.
They wouldn't be above average if others had the opportunities they had. They know this.
Edit: one potentially positive takeaway here. I was right wing in my youth. Probably because I was indoctrinated into it. However I was always of the opinion that communism wasn't evil and was just another way of doing things. I eventually realised that capitalism was the great evil of the world and my allegiance shifted more and more left. I hope that the person the replying here is just young and hasn't yet made the great leap yet.
Communism is the most 'natural' system out there. No one would support capitalism unless they were a capitalist without gargantuan propaganda efforts.
Under communism everyone will walk rhythmically with their heads down in multiple single file lines in various directions in a drab, gray city while a giant Lenin billboard stares down at the citizens
Capitalism could never offer you multiple lines AND direction. This is objectively better than what we have now.
They're a big fan of the r slur to absolutely no one's surprise. Some lowlights (not full comments):
::: spoiler CW: poverty shaming, ableism, transphobia, and racism.
if you can’t feed your kids you shouldn’t have them.
Why would anyone keep a [removed] baby?
Now that science is about the 3,000 genders and the economics are about socialized medicine. Fuck them. (waow)
Only [removed] people say neurotypical.
[removed] even by black standards, so triple white [removed].
Things were getting better until this privilege and equity bullshit. It's ok though, I've started to look forward to the chaos.
Mexicans hop the border, within one generation their kids speak perfect English. Black people have been here 6+ generations and choose to sound [removed]. ::: All I did was search the slur, I'm sure there are far more quotes you could pull from comments that don't "feature" that word. Obligatory
I certainly didn't! ::: spoiler CW: racism, IQ
Nobody mention the IQ of blacks in America. :::
Equality realistically wouldn’t even be achievable. The goal should be to minimize exploitation and suffering as much as possible, but these people think everyone’s going to use the same toothbrush and shit in the communal toilet
"I'm as right as they come, but..." is fantastic discourse.
So is "I'm right-wing too" when someone mentions being against communism.
Bit idea: "I'm as right as they come, but something doesn't sit well with me about having more empty homes than homeless people"
"I'm as right as they come, but how come the boss gets to make all the decisions for me, a citizen of the land of the free?"
I am above average in work ethic and intelligence.
Shit like this always reminds me how surveys apparently show that 90% of car drivers think they're above average drivers lol
I probably shouldn't be allowed to drive and that's why I support public infrastructure lmao
Another thing that Lenin addressed long ago, the early phases of socialism would be "for each according to their work". Really early phase even had piecework and subbotniks, which no doubt would surely curb the enthusiasm of the "above average" white American even more.
If they were so exceptional their exceptionality would be obvious without being lauded for it
My dad told me this when I was a kid and I told him I was so smart because I got all As in school without even trying.
He cut me off and said "truly smart people don't have to tell others they're smart".
Popped my ego balloon in an instant and he was right.
truly smart people don't have to tell others they're smart
There are situations where this isn’t true, especially if you’re neurodivergent or something where people just assume you’re stupid
Edit: also the phrase de-normalizes being confident in yourself which seems unhealthy
yes & no. if someone assumes you're a dumbass, saying "I am very intelligent actually" is unlikely to help.
But you shouldn't be afraid to prove it.
Def happens all the time with my interviews. The IT world in my area is filled with people who think I joined the field for the meme, or because I just looked up a list of good-paying jobs
He is right, but I'm not gonna lie that hurted me a little from all the way over here.
Complicated taxes, tax dollars go to fascism, inflated price of industrial goods, long wait times on large transfers of money, variable % interest loans, incredible lag time when interacting with the state, strict and arbitrary rules you can't effectually influence, inflated prices on consoomer goods when traveling, low quality foods filled with grease, dilapidated infrastructure, interfacing with designed-to-outdate technology, expensive courts to uphold contracts, and arcane courts to uphold contracts.
Ignorant hog.
Communism brings equality by chopping the exceptional at the knees.
Well then, we weren't all that exceptional now were we.
A lot of conservatives are made this way. They get some pitiful benefit from their effort or their talents and have the good fortune to evade some reality many others with the same blessings faces. Their ego tells them those other people deserved it somehow, and they build abwhole worldview out of this
Above average doesn't imply exceptional. This is such peak great man theoring.
I love that this doesn't even follow from their own assumptions. Assume for a moment that someone more capable leads to better results and should be rewarded as such. (I wrote this in a rush so there are probably logical errors).
Additional resources for "less exceptional" people leads to better work performance. Additional resources gives better education, less external stress, ect - all things that improve a workers output.
ASSUME the untrue fact that the "value" (quantity, quality, innovation) of someone's work is directly proportional to how "exceptional" they are.
Even in the most favorable case, the conclusion that the total value of work produced is lower is incorrect, because humans work in groups. The output of a human is dependent on the output of others in their working group. This is a fact. If one person is very bad at coal mining, they create more work to generate the same "value" of work. If the incompetent person is well tutored in their job and is given the assistance and help they need to understand their job and perform it to the full of their ability then the total work per "value" is lowered.
To the original point of the screenshot's op: you would support this program because you aren't a self-centered asshole who is out to only see your work on top and be rewarded as such. Even if that is the case, you aren't doing it right. It's much easier to make other people's lives worse and decrease the "value" of their work, thereby raising the "value" of yours relative to the mean. This indicates that if you want to improve only your position you should be the biggest piece of shit to everyone around you - don't actually do good work. Sounds like a ceo if I've ever heard of one.
Summary: even in the most neoliberal asshole view of people, communism still creates better overall work amd more total "value" due to human work being done in teams.
