@lemmy.mlHi, my pictrs database seems corrupt, and my instance is down. Any ideas?
Also made a ticket on GIT
(Using my alt account since, well, my main is kaput)
It's small, it is close to some take-a-ways and a small shop, and it is really close to fields, nature and the like.
And it has a pink church. Not religious in any form, but having a pink church is, idk, funny :D
I am running my instance for myself only. I used the Hetzner Cloud service for it. Surprisingly, it works on the cheapest instance (CX11)! And I mean, that is dead cheap.
I'm running Debian. If you want to check out everything yourself, feel free to do so. However, if you want an easy-as-they-come install, I would definitely recommend https://github.com/ubergeek77/Lemmy-Easy-Deploy . It takes care of everything. From the webserver, via de database to the SSL certificate.
I get an error because Debian is not playing along. And I know too little of Linux to investigate further, so I think I need to abandon and run away, while my server is still alive...
I want to try this, do I need to change the lemmy domain to my own instance url? (if this is a double comment, I tried it from my own instance, but can't see it on my alt. If someone can see this 2 times, I'm sorry.)
Yeah, I only see this comment when I'm actively putting the link of your comment in the search on my instance.
I saw your comment via my alt on lemmy.ml.
This looks like a serious issue!
Besides what everyone said… you are the boss. You control what can and can’t be done.
Eg. Lemmy.ml decided that users can’t create communities anymore on that instance. Easily solvable but a limitation to that instance.
If you own the instance, you decide what can be done and what not.
