I placed these animes because they are slice of life-y, though personally I admit that I threw in JJK there because I thought that the Asobi Asobase Occult Club (composed of only two members) would be too small compared to the others
Malicious compliance. Reddit basically said, "if you don't open the sub, we'll remove you from moderating". r/pics said, "yeah, we're opening it but you did not specify how". They made a poll in their community whether to stay the same or to post sexy pics of John Oliver. Overwhelmingly, their community picked the latter and now we have that
As much as I am a fan of Spy x Family and Violet Evergarden, they are more for more mature audiences as they have quite the adult themes. Violet Evergarden is set in a war world and although the story is not set in the war itself, the flashbacks (especially THAT scene during the attack on the fortress) are nonetheless too violent.
Spy x Family might seem like a wholesome family anime but it has underlying political and war themes. Bond's arc as well as Yor's assassination techniques in Ep 2 is something that I would not really recommend to a nine year-old kid. There's car explosions and use of dogs for warfare
Runner-ups:
There's a lot I like, so it's really hard to choose one. But here are some of my picks for each genre:
EDIT: If there are weebs here that still haven't subscribed to !anime@lemmy.ml, consider joining our community!
I have finally finished Volume 4, 5, and 6 of YumeDanshi (Dreaming Boy Turned Realist) today before the anime comes out this summer!
As for COTE, I think I'm gonna miss on hints if I do not reread the entire Y2 superarc before I delve into Y2V8, V0, and V9. So I held off on rereading for now until at least Y2V9.5 comes out (Hiyori fan here btw)
OmiShita (is that what it's called? I personally call it Omiai), I cannot finish it because it's too much diabetes with the fourth volume. Same with The Angel Next Door's seventh volume. The feeling that you cannot but still carry on reading because the main couple is doing lewd yet wholesome things.
So what generalist community does the light novel community belong to? /c/literature, /c/novels, /c/books?
