Hello! How was your week and what progress did you see in your garden? What are you happy or unhappy with? Time to share your experiences!
Personally I've been fighting a nasty invasion in my brassicas that destroyed the daikons. At least the broccoli looks okay.
On the good news front, I've been blessed with delicious lettuces that keep coming back, my beans are thriving, I get a new courgette every other day and I've seen my first cucumber flowers. Here's hoping they give me many fruits!
Our month of June was very hot and dry, but fortunately a good rain helped us this week. Water management is a challenge though, and I'm a bit torn between my desire for a good harvest and my efforts to keep watering to a minimum to avoid waste.
For context, my community is a kbin magazine https://kbin.social/m/vegetablegardening
I posted something similar a couple of days ago and thought it was solved, since someone commented they could see my community on vemmy.net. But I've only been able to find my kbin magazine/community on vemmy and lemmy.one so far. I've tried lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, beehaw.org, feddit.uk, etc. but none of them work.
What gives? Do I have to wait for a user from each instance to search for my community? Am I doing the search terms wrong? I've tried : the actual URL, the name of the community, !VegetableGardening@kbin.social , or even typing instancename/c/vegetablegardening but all it turns up are comments where I or others mention the community, not the community itself, or a "couldnt_find_community 404" error.
Can anybody help?

I created this community/magazine for people who garden with a focus on growing food - vegetables, berries and the like. The goal is to share tips, pictures, experiences and become a good ressource for gardening knowledge as well as a good place to brag about the size of your tomatoes! If you're interested to join or just curious, visit us at kbin.social/m/VegetableGardening or @VegetableGardening
I'm looking forward to seeing all your beautiful gardens, plots, raised beds and buckets!
(The community doesn't necessarily appear on all Lemmy instances yet, but it works at least on Vlemmy.net or Lemmy.one.
As we are starting this magazine/community from scratch, I'd like to hear if you have expectations or wishes for the direction of this sub. I'm open to all suggestions!
Personally I'm happy to just share our tips and experiences about gardening, and I hope we can build a good community and become a ressource for fellow hobbyists.
What do you all think? I'd love to hear from you.
I created a magazine @VegetableGardening for my hobby and I'm trying to get the word out there. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to "federate" it to Lemmy. I've tried searching with "all" enabled on lemmy.world and lemmy.ml, but all it does is show me my own comment mentionning the magazine on another federated magazine.
Am I doing something wrong? I used the full url (kbin.social/m/VegetableGardening) but only my comment shows up. The first time I tried was this morning and now I still can't find it on Lemmy.
Any help is appreciated.
