The story of a geeky twist on "Party like it's 1999".
I have an HP Victus laptop that I'm trying to get to fully work. It has two GPUs. The integrated is an AMD and the discrete is an Nvidia. For about a month I've been attempting to get Debian 12 to see and use the Nvidia card. My knowledge on anything Linux is not strong.
I got as far as getting the proprietary driver loaded. I just couldn't get anything to side load it when I launched anything.
I've stepped back a bit, and started to wonder if I'd have a better experience if I tried a different distro. I've heard some are better for multi-GPU situations like Manjaro.
So I guess I'm asking everyone if I should try jumping distros for this AMD/Nvidia situation?
I've been searching for three days and can't find any details to what this environmental variable does. Their have been issues for some people with Battle Net and I've seen people say to add WINE_SIMULATE_WRITECOPY. What does this variable do?
So when your out and about what of this current world reminds you of something from your childhood that you have tried to get a youngfur into? May it be outdated hobby, entertainment of the past, or simply something that isn't as popular anymore?
For me it's been Super Nintendo video games, and shows from the 80s. For instance I know Netflix killed it, but I've gotten a few of this century to get into Jim Henson things of the 80s. Specifically Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. But I have themed nights that helps introduces these things.
I'm not the richest guy. My desktop of 6 years died on me, so I only have my Thinkpad T440p. It has an Intel HD Graphics 4600.
Wanted a OSX looking distro, so I chose Elementary OS. I had trouble in the past getting Vulkan to work on it. Wish me luck I'm using Lutris at the moment to get WoW installed.
Currently downloading the game to my phone. I have never played this particular Diablo, but I have played the first 3 very much. I'm going into this with open eyes and an optimistic mind.
Now I have no intention of purchasing anything. My goal is to see how far I can get into this game before it either stuck behind a pay wall or it becomes an insurmountable grind.
Those that have played it, how far into it did you get before you put it down?
Ok let me begin by saying I'm an extreme casual. I only get to play 1-2 hours maybe 4-5 days a week. Because of my limited time I don't do any modern expansion dungeons or raids.
I heard about this gear upgrade system. I see where everyone is talking about upgrading veteran and above, but I don't see any information on upgrading adventure. Does anyone have any good info on where I can get that level of gear and what I need to do to upgrade it?
