Afaik he had some family and just basic live stuff that came in the way and he made the right call to set his priorities.
Looks like the most recent post to his Patreon starts with something about having had a slower release cadence recently. I'm not a patron though, so I can't see what it says about what his 2023 plans were at that point. His Twitter and YouTube both go quiet around then.
