Honestly they are boring. No sense of style or flair.
Look at the flags of Virginia Vermont or Oregon or even Minnesota those look good.
BTW are those ideas for the redesign your ideas or are they actual proposed ideas of what that state is looking at.
Interesting. I personally like simpler designs on flags. While complexity can work and there are a lot of instances where I like it, I really don't like the flags you mentioned since they just slap a seal or coat of arms on a blue background and call it a day. They're not at all distinctive, and they honestly aren't very interesting. They're just a bunch of clutter you can't make out from a distance surrounded by a field of blue.
I'd argue that these designs have more flair than the current one — the sun symbol is much more prominent, and the field is separated into different colors — but that's mainly a preference thing.
