If California were a country, it would be the 5th largest economy in the world. Califournia would be insane.
If it were just created via simple copy-and-paste, Califournia would have a population of 159 million people, which would be just under half of the current population of the entire country.
If it remained all one state and were not split up, it would certainly turn into a case of the tail wagging the dog. Califournia would be able to split off into its own country with a population and economy rivaling that of the entire remaining 49 states.
If Califournia was a country, it would have the third highest GDP in the world, behind only the US and China.
If Flourida was a state, it would still only have a GDP about 10% higher than a single California
If california was it's own country, you'd have to remove California's gpd from the U.S. So I think it would be higher on the list.
Nope, that was accounted for. California is the largest portion of US GDP by state, but it is still only ~15%. The smaller states really add up when there are so many
We needed a lot of land for the additional Californias and Floridas. CA --> CA ya know.
So, in the former, we'd have a massive population increase, but also a massive increase in overall tech manufacturing and output. In the latter, we'd have way more old people, but four Disney Worlds.
Either would displace too much seawater and damage coastal developments across the globe
Yeah but look at all that NEW coastline just waiting to get developed to hell and back!
