The windows version runs well under proton on Linux. Always good to have a native build though!

Dwarf Fortress has been available on Linux for a very long time. The Arch wiki page about the game was created in 2013!

I think that they're talking about the new graphical release on Steam.

I mean, it works fine on Linux under Proton, Steam's WINE build, but I suppose having a native build is nice, means not needing the compatibility infrastructure.
