Today is BPAL Secret Donuts (Glazed donuts, chocolate frosted donuts, and maple bars). Apparently I'm in a donut mood lately. I picked this one for today and promptly spilled half of the bottle. My bedroom smells like donuts but now I'm down half of a LE bottle. Boo, this is a first loss for me.
Oh, no! I'm always so afraid I'm going to spill. Not only would it suck to lose part (or all) of a bottle, but it's hard to fully get rid of the smell from a spill like that, and it's likely I'd end up getting sick of a scent I liked.
Today (10/23), I did a blend of Deconstructing Eden Libra and Poseidon. It's a little strange, but I think I like it.
Today (10/24), breaking into more Alkemia samples. I did straight Rose Rouge (layering note) on one arm, and Rose Rouge layered over Fixative on the other. I really love Rose Rouge, but it fades really fast on me. I suspected it might, which is why I'm also trying it with Fixative, but I think the Fixative + Rose Rouge is going to be a scrubber. The description on the site says it's "designed to blend well with most perfume scents without throwing off the overall olfactory balance", but I find it very strong and very sweet. I applied maybe half the amount of Fixative as Rose Rouge, and all I can smell now is the Fixative, which I find to be sickly sweet.
I'd FS Rose Rouge in the blink of an eye if I could figure out how to make it last longer. I had high hopes for Fixative, but boy do I dislike it.
