People give too little credit to how much crimes the police stops simply through self control.
As the old saying goes, "power corrupts, and since cops are bullies and already pretty stupid , they get corrupted faster."
I assume it’s because positions of trust in society attract those who want to abuse that trust.
Never trust a cop though.
