What do you use your old programming books for?
Found a new cafe today and they're using a bunch of old programming language books in their display

Old?!?! I'll have you know I just did some maintenance work on an ASP.NET 4.0 app a couple weeks ago. ☹️
I've used mine to prop up monitors but lately they just sit on my shelf. Books that serve no purpose end up in the garbage simply because I don't have room for them.
I have mine working as ballast in the bottom of a bookshelf to keep it from vibrating too hard when the 3D printer on top of it is running
I always wondered where my programming books came from. I’ve got probably 20 or so but don’t remember ever buying them. Can’t say that I’ve read them as I typically just use an e reader. They seem to just appear throughout my history as ways to shame me about not fully reading the docs. Like rabbits, always reproducing but sitting on shelves staring at me and silently judging, taunting.
Aaahhh, cookies! I need a cookie :-\
Oh, uhm, ehem. I use "The Dragon Book" as a laptop stand :'D The one with the red dragon.
I stealthily add mine to my workplace's bookshelf, so I can make room for new books in my cramped apartment. Someone will notice the 1989 book on BASIC at some point.
