After seeing your posts and looking up begleri, I decided to try it. It’s fun to learn, but definitely a skill you have to develop. The tricks look easy until you actually attempt them. I do enjoy just wrapping it around my fingers while I’m sitting around at work though. Thanks!
Ayyyy, welcome to the club!
Yes it’s definitely got a steep learning curve! But once you’ve gotten the feel for it, a lot of the other tricks are a much easier to learn - even if they’re more technical
Anything by Aroundsquare will do you very well, they can be pricy though, but they are definitely premium in quality. I love the Commons, Sigmas, and the Mini Hydras
TGP also makes great sets
MonkeyFinger also have some interesting bead designs
There’s also a bunch of fairly cheap alternatives online, and they’re usually not too bad. Amazon or Etsy will give you loads of options.
And you can always make a set from hex nuts and paracord too!
No dedicated community here yet, alas. But I am working on getting !idlehands@sopuli.xyz going. Not specific for begleri, but for skill toys and fidgets. Didn’t want to get too niche too quickly, without enough of a user base to support it
Found a sub that's been created but completely empty. Thought I'd start it up by making a post.
I'll definitely check all those out. Seems like amazing products!
Damn why do I keep getting into so many hobbies lol.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !begleri@lemm.ee
Did some research and also found this neat website

Yeah they’re super useful! But don’t be afraid to find a different tutorial. The ones they have are great, but the embedded video controls make it tough to scroll back a few seconds - plus other videos may explain it differently which winds up clicking better for you!
