I'm new to Lemmy and just created an instance for myself which I'll be using as some kind of blog and from which I'll be posting everywhere. Not sure whether this post will go through so am just checking. Does anyone know what happens to my posts if I take my instance offline?

The posts remain in the instances that already fetched them.
If you delete your posts before taking the instance offline, it is possible to get most of the other instances to delete them too through federated deletion. However, it is not guaranteed that the federated deletes will work with every instance and with every federated platform, so copies of your posts may still survive somewhere else.
