The Chinese-made EZ-6 that serves as the electrified successor to the Mazda6 is set to go on sale later this year

Probably still too massive and fugly "old iPad and double sided tape" interior design, but it's a step in the right direction, though.

Devil's always in the details, though. I'll go have a look at one of it ends up on the market here, that's pretty certain.

It's a badge engineered Deepal SL03 so I don't think Mazda can have too much flexibility in changing the car.

Why EZ-6 and not EV-6? Bizarre.

I suppose it's because Kia already is making a car called the EV-6
