In light of Google removing Organic Maps from the play store last night

Every android user needs FDROID

Obtainium is pretty useful too, a lot of my apps are pulled straight from GitHub releases.

I love obtainium, but it's not for ease of use, and most people might not want to mess with it. fdroid and droidify are simple to install and use

Also, not all apps are on F-Droid, so some of them need to be installed from Git. Obtainium is brilliant for that.

I don't want to tie my lemmy account to my Mastodon, so I won't be posting anywhere else

Oh man, I use Organic Maps on Arch on my desktop; never knew there was an Android version and always used OsmAnd~.

Screw google for this, at least organic maps is still available on fdroid.

Yup, and I just downloaded it! Always great to have options.

Yeah, except these rulings will benefit their corporate rivals, not the FOSS community.
