Frustration with high rates and poor service is sparking campaigns to take over investor-owned utilities and make them nonprofit entities.

Hmm, wonder where that money came from

So, first start passing laws that restrict the profitability of the utility. Then, the market price of the utility decreases and you can do a public buyout more easily.

Unfortunately cpuc has done nothing but allow rate increases, last I checked sdge has the most expensive rates in the continental us. Considering that with how shit the service has been I’d bet they are using that cash to pay regulators. I don’t expect this to go far but I hope it does because fuck sdge and cpuc

I saved 100% in my utility bill from SDG&E.... moved to Washington State. Everyone is democratic here. And if you miss the occasional shooting, don't worry, over by Aurora you get a daily shooting. You can almost just go to Aurora and expect to witness a shooting.
