The X-Men movieverse -> Deadpool Marvelverse is the best “multiverse” of them all and the only one worth continuing.
The MCU desperately needs a reboot. The cool part is that the multiverse is an opportunity to retcon literally anything they want. Fold mutants into the story, replace any actors necessary, revive abandoned plotlines or disrespected characters, and tell good stories again.
Deadpool is an ideal vehicle to jumpstart it, because he can break the fourth wall, lampshade anything ridiculous, and carry the audience through the awkward transitions with irreverence.
I just hope the new efforts in restraint lead to more consistent quality.
