Pfft. These kids need to learn somehow. What if you get called to a staff meeting but forget your staff?
The staff is the better weapon, the increase stamina generation while blocking means you can tire your opponent and force them to drop their sword, allowing you to defeat them more consistently.
OK, this is awful. But I don't feel bad about laughing as much as I did reading the story. What. The. Fuck?
Education in America today?
“Small arms practice, on the field, after school Friday; now, here’re your shurikens…”
It's such an absurdly stupid thing to do. Her response was to shit the bed, too
“I’m in trouble,” the teacher exclaimed in response, according to the complaint. Instead of immediately calling for help, the teacher is accused of telling the class to delete videos of the sword fights. Then, she tried to phone the school’s health office for medical assistance but didn’t know how to call there while the teen was “bleeding profusely,” the complaint says.
Meanwhile, “as (the teen) began to feel nauseous and weak from blood loss, another student ran to the VVHS health office for medical assistance,” according to the complaint. This led to a staff member responding to the classroom and calling 911 – 30 minutes after the student was wounded, the complaint says.
Not by much. She has permanent damage to her wrist and will be incapable of many normal things for the rest of her life.
She experiences “ongoing daily” pain, “as it was not possible to fully repair” the nerves and tendons in her hand and wrist, the complaint says.
Daily tasks are now a struggle for her, including cleaning, preparing meals and taking out the garbage.

On a side-note, copy-pasting text from the article forces some stupid share link. I've never seen that before...
That’s just what you tell the insurance company.
And historically speaking, sword fights have rather more severe outcomes.
That was the joke.
Maybe, but it's also very likely she did receive permanent damage from a sword. Lot of important bits in your wrist.
Like, I'm glad she didn't lose her hand or a limb, but she will forever struggle in life. That sucks and I can relate, so I hope she can overcome it.
