A slam would be the "value of the company", not a small percentage of the money they made off of breaking the law.

Slam, blast, etc. It's gotten REALLY old and stupid. It also means nothing. "Slam" in this context is at least something tangible. "Slam" in another context could be a critical post on Twitter.
Should probably be "slaps". That's more commonly used when talking about penalties and fines.
