Considering nobody really has rights, women or men, in authoritarian regimes, because laws don't mean anything in fascist authoritarian societies, laws are only for oppression in these types of governments. Most of these regimes are only a drop in birth rate away from implementing as draconian anti-abortion measures, as people are only resources in these types of regimes. Then there's the next to non-existent domestic violence laws in those types of regimes.
So while I'll agree these red states look worse and worse all the time, at least they're still not killing women and gays like in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Uganda, or imprisoning them like Russia and so many others, although Texas is getting really close to adding their names to this list.

We have free ambulances and hospitals, no income taxes, and the universities here actually pay you. Homelessness, healthcare debt and education debt, are foreign concepts and don't translate into our dialect. We can't do anything about it being mostly desert though. But we do have our green and snowy regions too. Saudi Arabia will host the 2029 Asia Winter Games after all.

Please do check the source of the news before shooting the messenger :) It is American Progress after all. This isn't about Saudi Arabia being better than the US -though we do have High Speed Rail- but about how much far behind the US has regressed.
One final bit, the punishment for doctors performing illegal abortion in Saudi Arabia isn't capital punishment like some US states are proposing.
