Star Labs changed naming scheme of Coreboot releases for almost the same like in LibreOffice - YY.MM. First new version is named Coreboot 24.02 and has a lot of new features: Resolved an issue blocking the scheduler on StarBook Mk VI Added support for 100W USB-C chargers for StarBook Mk VI Implemented various power optimizations for enhanced efficiency Achieved faster power transitions for a smoother user experience Tweaked lid behaviour for better functionality Introduced new options to disable the card reader and fingerprint readers for increased customization Yeah, looks like now we can charge laptop even faster with better charger.
Just saw #Manjaro and #OrangePi are teaming up to release the OrangePi Neo a Linux powered handheld. I can't wait to get more info, we need more Linux first handheld options. I'm still hoping @system76 @starlabs_computers @tuxedocomputers eventually offer their own handhelds.

Why is choosing equipment from Star Labs more than just buying a physical product? I have found this out in previous days. After a failed firmware update, Star Labs staff were happy to help me solve the problem. When these methods failed, they offered their own repair. It doesn't sound particularly special yet but the fact of offering a free repair after my failed update was nice. So I sent the laptop back to the UK. Afterwards, I was left heavily surprised. Firstly, the company was happy to accelerate the repair process and also chose express delivery because they knew I needed the laptop for a college class at the weekend. However, when my package was held up by DHL for customs inspection (and the DHL helpline was not very helpful), I could always call Star Labs. I called them every day for a few days asking for various details and told them about more problems. They showed me how to fill in each statement in right way. While it was each subsequent email from DHL that stressed me out, I knew I had someone to turn to for help, I had someone to call. It was a huge relief and comfort. The finale was that the package actually reached me and I was not faced with any additional costs (which is exactly as it should be). The day after receiving the package I still received an email asking if everything was OK. Star Labs is not just a laptop manufacturer. It's a company run by people for people. #StarLabs #Starbook #Starbkoomkvi #builtforlinux
Good to see that the @starlabs_computers StarLite even fully kitted is still more affordable than the Librem 11.

Star Labs devs released new Coreboot and ITE for Starbook MK VI. New Coreboot is realased also for older laptops from the company. What’s new in Coreboot 8.90? Rebased on upstream edk2 Update EC binary to 1.16 Rebased on upstream coreboot What’s new in ITE 1.16? Make the charging LED flicker between red and blue when no battery is present Fix the ANX7447 initialisation Optimise the power sequence Adjust the timing of the power button to handle error states I think both modules are in testing branch.

Star Labs changed the definition of StarLite line and new generation MK V is a tablet. Yes, it is a tablet with AMD64 processor (Intel N200) and with 3K screen with touch support. I love that It has a lot of ports and even micro HDMI, but micro HDMI isn’t very popular. What I hate is old Intel Networking Card without WiFi 6 (AX). AX is a standard for years now.
