Is Session really secure and private?

Is Session really secure and private?

There was a security audit https://getsession.org/session-code-audit that result in this: "The overall security level of this application is good and makes it usable for privacy-concerned people."

I have an issue / How to submit new issue?

Maybe someone already created same bug report/feature request - use the search field in the top-right corner at https://github.com/oxen-io/ and then click Issues. If there is no such issue, create new one by clicking appropriate repository at https://github.com/oxen-io/, and then submit new issue. You should see on how to attach the log file (Session/Settings/Help/Report a bug) or a screenshot. It is good when you write steps on how to reproduce the issue.

Why should i use Session, what are its advantages?

Quoting from https://getsession.org/faq "You don’t need a mobile number or an email to make an account with Session. Your display name can be your real name, an alias, or anything else you like. Session does not collect any geolocation data, metadata, or any other data about the device or network you are using. At launch, Session used proxy routing to ensure nobody can see who you’re messaging or the contents of those messages."

What are Session groups and communities?

What are Session groups and communities?

Session groups, communities:

A) GROUP: create under + button, "Create Group". Inside group, click image and then corner button to add additional contacts.

B) COMMUNITY: join existing https://sessioncommunities.online/ (copy community address on that page and paste under Session + button, Join Community)

C) COMMUNITY: create new https://internetlifeforum.com/showthread.php?22814-Session-messenger-how-to-create-new-open-community-group

What is the difference between communities and groups?

Open groups (now known as communities) are groups where each member is technically speaking in a public-facing and visible chat window where anyone can also convene, observe, and participate in the chat, as if it were an open and public space. Closed groups do not operate this way; they are invitation-based only, and as opposed to Session's open communities, they can only host up to 100 people. Session open groups (communities) have no known space limit to their entry or number of participants (group members).
