20 years ago we saw what is to many the peak of the Pokemon series. Pokemon Emerald released as a definitive version of the series’ third generation, combining the storylines of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire before it, and adding a post-game battle area the extent of which hasn’t been seen since. If...

I created a hack of Pokémon Emerald that allows Pokémon to follow behind the player in the overworld. I did this by using the C disassembly created by the pe...

ROM Hacks with disabled people?

ROM Hacks with disabled people?

This is an odd question, but I recently just realized Pokemon has very little disabled representation. I find it especially odd because Pokemon has so many amazing chances for representation, and they love the small details showing people's relationship with their pokemon. Like people who are wheelchair bound could have Machamps to help carry them up the stairs. Or someone who is hard of hearing having a Chatot relay what other people say. Or having an Espeon as a seeing eye pokemon and an emotional support. I'm curious if anybody has decided to include any of these sorts of ideas into a ROM hack.

(Crystal Clear) How do you register an item?

When I press select in the KEY ITEMS menu, it prompts me to move the item's position. I see nothing related to registering when I press A on the item as well :(

Favorite full dex hacks?

Favorite full dex hacks?

Figured I'd post to add content. Recently I've been playing Sigma Emerald. It's really close to vanilla but adds a bunch of small fun things. It's a bit out of date, but it's still my favorite semi vanilla rom hack. How about you guys?

community events!

community events!

I'm pretty new to Lemmy, migrating from Reddit and I pretty much only care about the Pokemon community anyways lol. As we get more followers to the community, I think we should look into hosting certain community events and megathreads for ease of access and info like the Pokemon subreddit did. I'm unsure of how things work here; and if the same types of things are possible. But it would help establish our foothold as a community and bring value towards us for outsiders! I would love to create a weekly discussion/questions thread, a competitive information megathread, and look into the possibilities of stuff like Shiny Sundays again! I'm really looking forward to the growth of the community and to meet new trainers!
