I can’t change any of my settings

I can’t change any of my settings

I considered replacing my profile picture, so I went to my settings and tried to upload a new one. At first it looked like it was working, but when I refreshed the page after clicking ‘Save’, nothing happened.

So I turned off my content blocking extensions, allowed Opera to permit trackers, advertisements, and protected content, and I retried to upload my profile picture.

{"data":{"error":"rate_limit_error"},"state":"success"}

I decided to modify my browser to accept all cookies, and this time I tried browsing outside of private mode.

{"data":{"error":"rate_limit_error"},"state":"success"}

At this point I thought ‘fuck it’, switched to Microsoft’s awful Edge browser, and tried to upload my picture from there.

{"data":{"error":"rate_limit_error"},"state":"success"}

Piss, piss, PISS!

ETA: I figured out what the problem is. The page didn’t want to save because the description had too many characters in it.

Any word on when we'll get pronoun tags?

I want to match the cool kids from Hexbear, but I don't have spare characters in my username.
Thx.

Is there any way that I can disable the emojis?

Is there any way that I can disable the emojis?

Normally I would trust ContentBlockHelper with something like this, but for some reason it isn’t working right on Lemmygrad and I’m tired of trying to fix it and all that I want to do is turn off a bunch of annoying images.

[FIXED] I can't see the post saying that Lemmycraft was down

[FIXED] I can't see the post saying that Lemmycraft was down

Edit: Fixed, thanks nemesis! I had to select the languages in my profile settings on firefox mobile, though it seems that isn't the only way to do it.

This is the post: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/773089

If I open the link I can only see the title of the post. I can see that there are 11 comments but they don't show up.

The only thing I can think of why that is is that the post was made with the English language option instead of Undetermined.

But other people could see it and pinged me (otherwise I wouldn't have noticed that the post existed in the first place)

Do I have misconfigured settings? I see that in profile settings there is a language selector thingy, but I can't figure out how it works.

Lengthy posts take forever to upload (because they won’t)

Lengthy posts take forever to upload (because they won’t)

I have been trying repeatedly to add a handcrafted transcript to the thread for this video, but the ‘loading’ circle spins endlessly.

It took me a while before I realized that a transcript of 23,364 characters exceeds the character limit, and therefore cannot be posted.

If you really need to have a character limit, please let the user know what it is and explicitly warn them when a message is too long. Don’t just give them a circle that spins endlessly. That’s bad programming.

Why do I have to keep resetting my password?

Why do I have to keep resetting my password?

It used to be that when I went to the login page, I could enter everything normally without a worry. Now when I try to log in, I get an error message saying ‘Couldn’t find that username or email.’

I can still log back in when I select the ‘forgot password’ option and ‘reset’ my password, but it’s really annoying to do this every time that I want to log in. Please stop this.

We’re getting ready to release a new version of Lemmy, which will require a database upgrade, so we’ll have a few hours of downtime.

Which bots should be brought over from Reddit?

Which bots should be brought over from Reddit?

I have created a reply bot that I posted earlier. With it, I can create any bot that replies to users' comments with a set message. It can also get information from the comment and include it in the reply if needed.

The reply bot I made is pretty advanced in terms of what it can detect because it uses PCRE2. For example, I can detect only things that start with something, or only things that have specific characters in specific locations and don't have other characters before or after.

Does anyone know any bots on Reddit that they may want brought to Lemmygrad (other than parenti bot, that's already been brought over), or have any other ideas for bots that could be added?
