@lemmy.worldThere is no reason to consider one's political party in local elections, if they are even a part of one, in local elections. Large social and economic issues simply do not matter for small positions such as city council or mayor. If you're part of a large city such as NYC then sure but the vast majority of us aren't. By the way, this only applies to the US because of our "wonderful" 2 party system.

An explosion at a political rally on Sunday in northwest Pakistan killed at least 35 people and injured 200 more, officials said, the latest sign of the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan, where some militant groups have become more active over the past two years.
I can't really think of a reason for that as Reddit is hated somewhat equally by "both" sides of the spectrum. It's just something I find interesting.
