Well I stand corrected then. Good for Hezbollah, more capabilities gives them more options.
And burger-brained Americans will see this and be like “I just KNEW that eating vegetables and getting exercise every day was bullshit. Time to go back to my bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers and watching TV 6 hours a day!”
Before this week, I had assumed that Israel was attempting to get Hezbollah to attack them in order to give Israel just enough casus belli to pull the US into it.
While that may be part of it, the terrorist attacks this week (including the destroyed apartment building just now) have made me think it’s all just Israel trying to get Hezbollah to invade Israel so Israel doesn’t have to invade Lebanon. Israel is just going to keep ratcheting up the horror until Hezbollah decides they have to do something (which they won’t, Hezbollah’s only offensive capabilities are with missiles).
I don’t think we should assume that just because the entity’s military leadership are fascists that they are also completely irrational. If a bunch of commies on this poxy website can see how obvious it is that Israel will get rolled if they invade Lebanon, it has to be even more obvious to someone like Gallant who is evil but also seems like a realist.
So right now we have a situation where Hezbollah cannot invade Israel, and Israel cannot invade Lebanon. Each wants the other to invade, but they both know it’s a death sentence for either of them to attempt it. So what I think we’re seeing is a game of provoking the other to invade, and Israel probably thinks they are in the better position because they have more latitude to do evil shit.
(All of this is probably obvious to most, just summarizing it all here).
Thankfully that should at least slightly ease the pressure off the global south’s USD-denominated debt.
You mean Hezbollah invading Israel, or the other way around?
Hezbollah’s military capabilities were built around defending against a Zionist invasion of Lebanon. No doubt, if the IOF invades Lebanon then they will get massacred. Not even the US military would be able to prevent that.
But Hezbollah does not have the capabilities to march into Israel and hold ground. They can cause immense damage to Israel - to the point of potentially collapsing the state - with their missiles. But in order to take and hold land you need combined arms and that is not what they have.
As an aside, if you ever decide to write up a post about life in Iran, that is something I know myself and a lot of other western Hexbear users would love to read. The propaganda here is no intense, and there’s such a dearth of sources from Iran in English about that sort of thing, any real insight is appreciated.
Also per that same Telegram channel (The Cradle):
Lebanese Ministry of Health:
"3 martyrs and 17 wounded in the initial toll of the raid on the southern suburb of Beirut"
Can anyone recommend some nice hard to break pint glasses that look nice and are affordable. I really wanted some Superfest glasses from but they are insanely expensive.
I’ve been watching Trump talk about Israel on Hasan’s stream for a bit now. Honestly, Trump is truly disgusting. The way he talks about Israel is disgusting. It’s worth noting that Trump will still be REALLY BAD for Palestine.
And I will fully admit, watching Trump talk about Israel elicits an emotional reaction in me. It was making we waver. I was starting to think maybe - MAYBE - I should go ahead and hold my nose and vote for Kamala, because she can’t be as bad as him right. Or at least losing to her will make this asshole and his supporters mad.
And then, in my mind I saw the face of Nasrallah amongst a sea of Hezbollah flags. I thought about how much Hezbollah has had to deal with from Israel. How much poking them with a stick they’ve endured. How they’ve had to see Israel act like an out of control child. It must be so hard for them to not respond out of emotion. And yet, they haven’t. They kept a cool head for nearly a year now. And because they didn’t respond reflexively, I truly believe Hezbollah will destroy the IOF and even maybe bring about the end of the entity in time. So, be like Nasrallah and don’t give in to the need for immediate satisfaction.
(No, I’m voting for Kamala and never was, just to be clear)
