The remake is still set in the 90's, right?
First of all, while mines is darker brown, that cut is pretty close to me recently. Not me outta bed or while fighting a demi god, but for those 20 seconds after combing it and occasionally throughout the day...
Now, I'm not all American men. Yes we have varity in our hair types and colors and styles. But it's the same reason Americans think something about English peeps, and Indians think something about Brazilian peeps. And so on. Its cause they don't live there and have limited experince with that particular group of the other.
Games (movies and books and whatever else) shouldn't homogenize any group too much. But to be fair, it's fucking hard depicting people.
