I had a therapist tell me I was a "coward" because I told her I broke up with my physically abusive and emotionally manipulative girlfriend over the phone.
First and last session with her.
The worst part is that seeing a therapist is an expensive privilege in America when truth be told, most Americans probably need one.
small smart - therapy bad
medium smart - therapy good
big smart - therapy in capitalism sucks ass
i'm so sick of human emotions being a problem to be solved rather than indicative of a person's situation (or sometimes they do need solving because of chronic emotional imbalances etc but that is outside of the scope of this comment)
It's an old saying but it applies more than ever: it isn't a sign of wellness to be adapted to a sick environment.
Some people thrive in the corpo hellscape that dominates the world, but those people, in their personal lives, attitudes about others, and how they affect the world around themselves are the human equivalent of superfund sites.
therapy is inherently reactionary
