"U.S. citizens in Haiti should depart Haiti as soon as possible via commercial or private transport," the embassy said in a statement, urging extreme caution. An escalating gang turf war in Haiti has caused a devastating humanitarian crisis that has displaced around 200,000 nationwide and left some 5.2 million people - nearly half of Haiti's population – in need of humanitarian aid, according to the United Nations.

My friend, Haiti has not been in anything resembling a good situation for quite some time now. It's just especially worse right now.
Yeah Haiti might hold the record for most fucked over country in history. And that is saying a lot.
Hundreds of years later, they still have to do penance for having the temerity to not just revolt against the slave masters but to win. White Europeans have been making an example of them ever since.
