Nah, I'm in my 30s and see sleeping as a chore. ADHD brain also makes it really difficult to fall asleep.
im almost 40 and my trick is to not try to fall asleep because if i try i end up staying awake longer due to frustration. i just watch youtube trombone tutorials until i pass out.
A medically irresponsible quantity of sleeping pills and whiskey can solve that problem!
I'm 30, but I have the same problem and do the exact same thing. I also take a 10mg melatonin capsule at 7:30-8:00 every night
This was a struggle for me at first too.
Until I realized that trying not to think of anything so I can sleep, is thinking about something.
The paradox of "trying" to sleep. The harder you try, the less you sleep.
My suicide dreams were almost all me trying to drown myself. I'd then discover that I could breathe underwater and get excited about the discovery and it would disrupt the depression for the rest of the dream
“20 and older?” Dude I was foregoing sleep in favor of doing tons of shit well into my mid-20s.
I got a new mattress. Really makes a difference in quality of sleep/enjoyment of sleep.
EDIT: Taking one of those mattress quizzes helped a lot. Probably not perfect, but better than just getting a mattress from a ad or youtube sponsor.
They can be so damned expensive, I'm beyond overdue for one (mine is kind collapsing in the middle).
hell yeah (I'm reading this sleep deprived on 6ish h of sleep and I won't be able to sleep for another 3h unless I wanna risk missing my train and I would love a bed rn)
Hell yeah I've been staying up too late but still have to get to early so this is like my current fantasy.
