What do you call a word that swipes in the shape it describes? Like an autonym but for swiping.
Spelling it, I always feel stupid and forget when to end:
"Bana"? No, keep going...
"Bananana"? Damn!
(Paraphrased from Demetri Martin)
"Nanny Ogg knew how to start spelling 'banana', but didn't know how you stopped."
Terry Pratchett, Witches Abroad
Wouldn’t be surprised if this was intentional. Same way as typewriter can be written with only the first row of letters.
Even though the QWERTY layout was designed so keys don’t get jammed when typing in a typewriter, it was also designed with no ergonomics in mind, and some decisions are questionable.
For example, the word typewriter is typed using letters from the top row only because of a design decision.
So, AS A JOKE, I’m saying that they also intentionally designed the layout so when typing “banana”, a banana would be drawn.
