My favorite part about this problem is that it's entirely self inflicted. This can only happen if you store it in specific orientations. If you store it literally any other way, it'll bounce off the edge instead of getting caught.
But there's so much wasted room storing it upside down, and it's too tall to store on its side
If you're worrying about wasted room, you can definitely play around some more to find ways to fit.
Personally I just skip all that and either hang them from hooks, or throw them into a tall, upright container (like a vase or can put something). I've got all my oddly shaped utensils like that, and I've got this old vase thing that stores my most common utensils, within reach of my stove. The access matters more than the storage.
Best thing I ever did was hang peg board. Two actually, one for pans (pots still live in the cabinet), and another for the most used utensils. I love having all my measuring spoons and cups hanging next to the cutting board.
Not as big of an issue as you'd think if you use your kitchen regularly. The bigger issue that most people don't consider is oil residue from cooking, ends up creating a slight sticky film on hanging utensils if they aren't used or washed every couple of weeks.
Ha yeah, I have a potato masher that has to be perfectly aligned or it blocks the drawer. But I'll never stop putting it in there π but I will get pissed every time it causes a problem.
Its like we went back in time 10 years moving from reddit to lemmy, the memes on lemmy are trash
I love these memes, Iβm having a great time and there is NOTHING you can do or say to stop me
I'm not letting this bastard get anywhere near my other utensils.
He's got a nice quiet space, together with all the other misfits.
If you put a spatula in a drawer, sometimes it will move upward and block your drawer from opening, (by hanging under a support beam or something) which is very annoying.
Get yourself a pot on the kitchen counter and ram these awkwardly shapen fuckers in there handle down
Did you make this? Itβs so clever and funny. I heard dramatic action movie music with the closeup on the spatula. Good stuff.
