@lemmy.worldAh yes, the original unviable silicon valley businesses! I love how they used their VC money to undercut and kill small businesses all over the world.
I think it's a generational thing. As boomers die off their horrible values are passed on less and less. The few people in younger generations who got absorbed in racist, fascist and misogynist populism may die clinging to those values, but it will be harder to spread to the next generation in a post Trump loss climate. (Hopefully post Putin loss climate by then too!)
Shit like this is why I became a contractor. Sick of control freaks with no idea what the job entails telling everyone what to do.
as far as the engineers go, there’s plenty of really good folk
They might be the best in the business, but even with those skills a bad leadership is directing them to produce substandard software. I get it might even be a great place to work with decades long friendships, good conditions and pay - but I just think if you decide to work there you also have to weight the reputation of the business and how that impacts your career. Microsoft is good for getting a new job, but don't be surprised if other developers wince at your professional opinions.
I'm gay but I don't think about gay sex or cum as much the average Republican appears to.
There's also anal. Oral. Masturbating together. Going on Omegle and earning some crack money.
So. Many. Options.
I'm just glad it wasn't the person I know! What's up with deadbeat dads thinking they don't owe child support?
