I have and it’s great, using NetNewsWire and Feedly for the time being until I’ve got something self-hosted setup.
I regret that I stopped using RSS after Google Reader died. Moving my news feeds to Twitter and Reddit was a big mistake.

From my experience database schema changes require for all connections to drop, but they tend to happen a lot less compared to other updates.
Scotland is having a similar issue :-/ it’s to expensive to have children.
