Minecraft is deceptively hard on cpu and gpus for what the game appears to be. It looks simple, but that simplicity comes at the cost of very high computational loads due to how dynamic and interactive everything is. They add in new features pretty frequently for a game I bought 12 years ago. Those features aren't free and they stress the system even more. Be happy it is playable at all on a phone - it's nice that they added in tuning parameters to let your phone be capable of playing it instead of saying you need the newest RTX4090 just to get 30fps
It ran while simulating a distance of one chunk at a time. Computers could simulate much more because the game was written to let software define just how far from the user to render. Phones rendered hardly anything which let them at least play the game.
To add to this - the most important thing is the community. Yes, girls are given special organizations. But the cause of this rightward lurch is a world wide withdrawal from community. We're not spending time together and calling each other out on their shit. Rightwing nutjobs used to be known to be rightwing nutjobs and they were called out for being that way. They knew what they were and they knew the community disapproved. Now everyone is siloed at home on the internet with no social fabric to error check them and tell them that they are being pushed towards nutjobism.
It just has an absolute ton of calculations to perform on hardware that is not made for it.
It's going to be a little while before we get realistic options for outdoorsy uses of BEVs. If you want the range to get there AND get back (or even just to a charger) then they're too dang heavy for offroad use. If you want to pull a camper, then the range absolutely tanks.
Airstream is trying to address this by making a $120,000 (lol) camper that has its own battery and traction motors to assist the pulling vehicle. I think its a pretty good idea but of course they're going to lock it down in patents for 20 years and prevent anyone from offering something affordable.
Maybe we'll get lucky an a revolutionary battery technology like those frequently talked about glass batteries will come out and just outperform the status quo by every metric.
Space, the final frontier. trumpet music These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, on a mission to explore strange new markets, to seek out new profits and new business opportunities, to boldly trade where no one has traded before. doot DOOOOOOOT
He's selling his stupid xshitter clone for nearly 10 billion and he has a 50ish percent stake. That's the real grift here. No one in their right mind would pay 10 billion for that platform. It's got fewer than one million active users and the rest are bots. THAT is the bribe.
I eat shrimp unpeeled. Learned to do it from Vietnamese restaurants. It's not bad! It saves a shitton of time peeling them, the spices are usually on the outside so you get more flavor, and the shell gives a nice crunch. I don't eat the tailfins tho that's dumb. They're hard, pointy, and have no meat.
That said... I advocate for finding ways to incorporate insects into western diets. I think we need to start a program to breed them for purpose though. Just like how bananas used to be small and full of seeds but were bred to what they are today. Breed a grubworm or something to be better eatin' and grow them in huge quantities. But no way am I eating a roach.
