Definitely! I just want people to stop raging out at the idea of showing some love to the individuals that are making this Fediverse thing happen... There's a difference in not wanting to be ripped off/taken advantage of by rich corporations and just being plain cheap. Lol
Bless the Connect devs, they gave a good go at it but Sync is just too good. I applaud them though, their app held me over until now.
This morning when I got the notification it was downloading, lemmy.world was straight up down. Whether it's true or not, I'm saying it was Sync's release and the flood of new users.
The dev said there already will be. I hope you'll support a hard working, singular dev who puts a lot of work into an app and engages with its users like LJD.
There's a difference between being against being taken advantage of and ripped off, the principle of it... And just being cheap. This thread blows my mind at the amount of people who are just plain cheap. $2.00 a month to a singular dev who busted his ass to give Lemmy an app that will help simplify the process for many users to transition away from Reddit and these cheapskates are complaining... You all wait til the last bite of your steak to complain too? Oof.
I tried the Pixel Fold because I've been using their phones since the Nexus days. I went into it very skeptically... Meaning I made sure I was thoroughly aware of the return policy.
I'm sold. Weight doesn't bother me and the benefits of being able to swap into a screen with that much real estate for viewing, multitasking, playing games, etc far outweigh a little thickness and weight. It fits in my pocket way better than I imagined and the front screen is actually more functionally sized that my 7 Pro's due to how damned tall it is! If you're not hard on your phones (I don't imagine it takes a beating as well as a regular phone) then I suggest you give it a shot. I'm definitely never going back.
