Seems rather triumphalist for a UK community to upvote since the health service has been sold off (to the US) for profit. Maybe the other Europeans joined in?
Yeah I saw that and my idea was to have the first line be edited to make it more prominent. It's your community, just a suggestion from me.
Italy has a shameful fascist past and present that can abuse Tolkien's work like many other fascists do. Italy's shambolic, incoherent and ridiculous fascism melds well with Tolkien's own multifaceted views in some respects. He did (as a Catholic not a fascist) support Franco, though in later life turn towards the traditional left wing libertarianism/anarchism. And his letter to the Nazis condemning their bigotry is well-known.
I was going to ask what this had to do with the Tories. I was wrong on two fronts. The UK Tories, despite it not being traditional for them to support individual freedoms, especially with this US-style rhetoric, did pass this law. Two, this is a US centric community, and the US right-wing do purport themselves to be free-speech defenders, (it is only recently that the UK tories have started apeing them).
Would the mod consider changing the sidebar to say: 'An American/US community for conservatives'?
Thanks.
Well, you're not claiming to the arbiter of truth here are you? Hence you have a bias, and as a layman I'd benefit from knowing it.
I appreciate the answer regardless.
Well, everybody knows capitalism rose out of feudalism in Europe. @ Cheesus briefly mentions it too.
The sarcasm is a response to the universal assumption that money and wages were always had universally. But @ TheChurn says very few were paid and those were rare.
Reminder: the soviets ran a state-capitalist system. That's not very feudalist.
I think you've misunderstood her quite a bit. Happens a lot on here lol.
