If you want to change this person's mind, perhaps you would have better luck providing actual evidence or examples of government waste, rather than insulting them.
I'd have more luck teaching them the English alphabet than teach him "why the government is wasteful". No adult disagrees about this, even far left nut jobs know this, but they justify it because it's easier to ask for more money than controlling fiscal policy. This is the irony. I'm not gonna engage in ABC public vs private property with a rando online because it's a waste of time, and I'd rather talk to someone with the basic knowledge so that a useful conclusion can be reached. I expect people to have basic knowledge on how the world works. Otherwise I don't care.

Good for you. Funny I was thinking the same thing, except that I don't need proof that you're a bunch of ignorant teenagers. Maybe when you get out of your parents' basement you'll learn a thing or two on how the world works. Then we can have an adult discussion without me having to prove the sky is blue before the discussion starts.
