movie-web.app or justchill.tv, both developed by some seemingly pretty cool people and very well made.
wiki seems kinda overwhelming. Seems easier to just point people in right direction immediately instead of having them sift through the TONS of links on the wiki, half of which are riddled with ads.
disagree. I donโt have a Pi Hole because i donโt have a raspberry pi, but i do have a couple apps for dns based filtration on the iphone ( dnscloak or lockdown for example ) and that + hyperweb has never come anywhere close to what ublock can do on desktop. still tap somewhere on a website and then a whole new tab opens and itโs an add for realtors at shockingly low prices and i go back to the original tab and try to tap the play button and the same thing happens again and i have to do it 3 times and itโs just a nuisance. Using a site that just doesnโt have ads though, works great! + movie web is selfhostable, so no matter what at any point in the future even if they put ads on their main instance you can spin up your own and not have that problem.
Mainly on ios im just sideloading itorrent and using stremio web to get magnet links and then playing them in vlc though: Using a website at all is kinda a mediocre way to watch something. Thatโs not something iโd tell other people to do though cause itโs kind of a chore and requires a vpn and all that.
You don't need to have a Raspberry Pi in order to use Pi-Hole, you can just use a normal computer running Linux. I obviously agree with you though, I just got an iPhone X a few weeks ago and it's super underwhelming, even with JB.
i already do have a normal laptop running linux, iโll certainly give pihole on just normal linux a go. Can you use a normal linux laptop as a vpn router ? if you can that would be massively convenient to me. i kinda assumed raspberry pis had specialized functions for this kind of thing that just a normal computer wouldnโt
