That sucks! But even with a publisher, surely it would have had trouble in a market where Dwarf Fortress exists? How is it compared to that?

I feel Rimworld has kind of a very different concept, you don't even have any layers. Games like Songs of Syx or especially Odd Realm feel much closer to DF. No idea how this specific title compares but I can see how there's been quite some competition.
