@pankkake
@lemmy.worldI tested high on the IQ scale. I'm single, unemployed and have trouble making friends.
I know I'm just a stranger on the Internet, but those are symptoms of gifted people.
You should look into giftedness. I've recently read a book on it (in french), and it's helped me lots in understanding my condition, my differences with others as well as the challenges I face in the corporate world.
I'd be happy to talk about it if you wish!
people not understanding your thought process
First, knowing that you have a mind that may take shortcuts that others aren't used to taking is helpful. Whenever you explain something to someone else, it is useful to explicit the reason you take these shortcuts.
For instance, if while talking about subject A, your mind makes a link to subject B and them to C, you have to talk about B before talking about C, even if to you B is evident and there's no point in talking about it.
people not understanding your way of life
People don't need to understand my way of life. It's my life, I do what I want. I can explain to them why I chose to do the things I do, but ultimately I'm going to do it whether they understand or not – unless they convince me that it's a bad way to live.
From what I understand, Cloudflare can block some DDoS attacks, but not all of them.
The attacks on Lemmy have to do with poorly optimized SQL requests; these are requests that shouldn't take long to execute, but do due to some oversight. By spamming these requests, the attackers can bring Lemmy on it's knees.
Actually, wouldn't this attack better be categorized as a DoS attack ? What's so distributed about it ?
Your link (or at least what I've read from it) doesn't cover why it would be bad to make the ocean saltier; it only talks about the rise of the salty ocean water.
