@lemmy.worldWhile it's called a TIP, it's not. Nor is it a bribe imo. It's "door dash is too lazy to pay their driver's a fair rate, so here is where you come in..." The higher the amount you put in there, the more likely your order will be received And delivered in a timely manner.
If door dash just paid their people properly, this issue wouldn't exist but they feel the need to maximize their profits instead of doing what's right for both their employee and customers.
Fuck it. I'll just say this instead. It's time to break up the tech monopolies. Google, Microsoft, etc.
To the Moon.
It's a short story that's made into a game. The gameplay piece of it is minimal, but it's all about the story. I can't say too much about it buts it's an absolutely beautiful story with SNES style graphics that reminds me of the movie Arrival.
Had me speechless... Didnt know how to exist for a few after...
You'd be surprised how things can change, and quickly. It's not going to be a overnight win for another platform. It's going to have to start from the ground up, in probably a decentralized way, but it can happen.
We don't know that yet. I dislike Kotick as well, but doubtful that much changes from the monetization standpoint of the company.
From a purely morale standpoint, it's mostly a W. But it's not like Kotick isn't getting his golden parachute and wiping his tears away with $100 bills.
No I'm saying, imo, they're wasting a lot of energy on trying to get adblock users to stop using adblockers. Just my take, is all.
They're serving ads just fine. They're now targeting those that don't want the ads and actively try to avoid them. That's the main difference.
