Yeah I read about that but it seems to be voluntary. I haven't read anything about anyone actually being blocked, but it seems to be because the threat of a fine and blocking is enough. Another commenter pointed out they have offices within the EU so I guess EU officials could chase them up there.
The companies you mentioned are also nowhere CLOSE to the size and resources of meta. I'm not sure any of those companies could overrun the fediverse as a whole even if they wanted to, maliciously. But Facebook? I have no doubts.
So when the greedy little pigboy said "we'll continue to be profit-driven until profits arrive" he was being completely and purposefully deceitful? Since it's not that profits "haven't arrived" it's that they just don't want to say so?
