Good question! I'm still gonna use testflight before release, so if you wanna see what's coming earlier and are comfortable with a few more bugs then just keep using testflight.
The testflight version is temporarily outdated just now cause I had to focus on getting the release ready. This won't be the case in a couple days or so
The app is written natively for iOS, so an android version is not possible unfortunately.
Hi, Avelon is now on the AppStore!
App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/avelon-for-lemmy/id6450952178
Also there's a new app icon too:
Yeah for sure, wanna do that later. The app is mobile-first for now, but I figured some iPad support is better than nothing!
Hehh, sorry didn't mean to startle you, your account was just a good example for a screenshot. Glad you like it!
Avelon dev here - thanks! Really enjoy Memmy as well, pretty impressive what you guys are able to do with React Native.
It's very cool to see so much enthusiasm in the dev community. Lemmy can definitely be a place where lots of different apps & frontends can thrive to suit just about everyone.
I really prefer native apps, it's usually way easier to get solid performance and top notch OS integration. Of course it limits the number of devices it can run on, but that's the price you pay. I don't think Avelon would have worked nearly as well as a PWA.
