In the quest for endless growth all publicly traded companies eventually have to cut costs, jack up prices, or both. The investors expect a return on their investment.
Lemmy doesn't have that debt.
Slower speeds are safer. There would be a lot less fatalities if everyone just went the speed limit.

BUT I torrent everything else. Sorry, Universal, I'm not going to pay $24 to rent Fast X.
I don't use Google very often anymore, more of a DuckDuckGo fan. However using ChatGPT has become my goto for quick howto stuff. A lot of web searches will load clickbait articles or dead end forums. Using GPT I often get a strait forward guide built for exactly what I need.
